We Know the rumors about the Call of Duty Warzone 2 so far

Call of Duty Warzone 2 has already been officially confirmed by Activision, back in February, in a joint announcement with the 2022 title Modern Warfare 2 . So far, the title has had few details released, but the online game is the subject of several unofficial leaks. Among them are supposed similarities with the Blackout mode COD Black Ops IV, the map set in Colombia with changes in buy stations and renewed gameplay.

The latest rumors emerged from a video on the NerosCinema channel. They were later reinforced by Tom Henderson, an insider famous for leaking information about titles from franchises such as GTA and Call of Duty. He checks below all the rumors about COD Warzone 2. It is worth mentioning that Activision has not yet released official details about the title, and, therefore, all information should be viewed with caution.

Launch and platforms
According to the leaks, the forecast is that COD Modern Warfare 2 will be released between September and December 2022, while Warzone 2 will arrive in 2023, during the cycle of the new Modern Warfare. Also, according to Henderson, the game should have a new trailer on June 8th. As mentioned, Activision has yet to release any of this information officially.

Warzone currently runs on both old-gen and current-gen consoles, but according to leaks, the sequel is being developed from scratch, with a new engine and based on the best hardware. Therefore, according to the insider, Warzone 2 should only have versions for PlayStation 5 ( PS5 ), Xbox Series S / X, and PC.

It is worth mentioning that, even though Microsoft purchased Activision, the company has committed to maintaining the current contract with Sony, which involves the following three titles in the franchise and extending the partnership so that COD fans can continue to play on PlayStation.

History
As Warzone and the Verdansk map were initially based on a Call of Duty Modern Warfare story, a refresh of the reference for both sequels is expected. According to Henderson, the new Modern Warfare will follow a US Army special force in a secret war against Colombian drug cartels.

The official teaser hints at the return of the international special operations team, Task Force 141. However, according to Hope, another COD leaker, Warzone 2 should be inspired by Medellín, Colombia’s second-largest city. The tourist sites of the urban center must serve as points of interest in the game.
