So far there has hardly been any gameplay to Bethesda’s new RPG Starfield, although it was supposed to be released on November 11, 2022. Now the game has been postponed to the first cache in 2023. The reason was only stated that fans should get the “best possible and finely grinding” game, so it takes more time in development.
According to a report by journalist and insider Jason Schreier, the problems with the game could be more profound. Accordingly, words such as “the next cyberpunk” were liked by developers.
developers have taken care of the release
As Schreier shared on Twitter, he had spoken to some of the developers in 2021 who felt uncomfortable with the planned release date because the previous development had not progressed far enough:
Last spring in front of the E3 I spoke to some of Starfield who were extremely concerned about setting up a release on November 11, 2022, based on the progress that they had made so far. (“Next cyberpunk [2077]” buzzed around as a term.) Well for Bethesda that they [the release] moved, even after they had announced the specific date.
Of course, these talks have been more than a year ago and a lot could have happened at Starfield. The term “next cyberpunk” should sound very worrying for many, after all, the RPG from CD Projekt Red appeared in a disastrous state.
The reports of an ex-developer from Starfield also indicate some problems. The game should therefore look pretty good, but not yet playfully sophisticated. In particular, flying is still needed:

On the note that cyberpunk was also postponed and still appeared in an unfinished state, Schreier added that the period was important: “Cyberpunk was not postponed far enough. Hopefully it will be.”
As a reminder: The release of Cyberpunk 2077 was originally planned for April 2020 and was then postponed by a total of half a year. Of course, this does not necessarily mean that Starfield needs just as much or more time, after all, the current state of the RPG also plays a role, for which screaming does not report anything.
Either way, the postponement should benefit the game and give the development team the time to improve mistakes and give the game the necessary finishing touches. Accordingly, it should have been a good decision not to name a specific new release date until the condition of Starfield is ready for this.
