Are the Ray Tracing (RTX) and DSS settings attenuated or do not work for you at Icarus PC? Do not worry, there are solutions that work for this problem.
The ray trace appears attenuated for many users in Icarus
After many delays, Icarus is finally available for PC. The game is a EVE survival game based on sessions, for up to eight cooperative or solitary players. Your goal is to survive enough time on different planets, extract exotic matter and then return to the orbit to create more advanced technology. If you do not comply with your deadline, you will be left behind forever.
Rocketwerkz has spoken enough about the features of Ray Tracing in Icarus from the game announcement. They have been saying for a long time that the implementation of Ray Tracing has taken the images of Icarus to another level. And I agree with them. I played the game for a while and I can guarantee that the open world is one of the most realistic I have seen.
Anyway, many players who bought Icarus complain that RTX is not working. It is completely attenuated. The same goes for the DSS option. It is also attenuated. Now, it makes sense for users who do not have RTX cards. But even users with RTX 3070 and 3080 are experiencing this problem. Watch this publication of a Steam user:
Ray tracing problem
I have a RTX 2060 Super and the setting of the game tells me that I do not have a compatible ray drawn graphic card. Is it a problem with the NVIDIA controller or Icarus hardware detection?
Now the question is, can this be solved?
How to fix this problem
I was having this problem myself to be honest. I have an RTX 3070 PC and a PC 3060 IT. The configuration of Ray Tracing and DSS was attenuated on my two teams. This is what I did to solve the problem:
CEDRE Icarus and Steam
Then, I updated my NVIDIA controller to version 497.09 through GeForce Experience. It is the last optimized controller for Icarus.
After installation, I restart my PC
After pressing the Play button on Steam, you have two options:
Play ICAO (DX11)
Play Icarus (DX12 RTX 2070 or better)
I chose the second option and I won the game.
And that’s all I did to solve my problem. I am using the latest version of Windows 10 (Windows 10 64-bit version 20h2 (OS Build 19042.1348) throughout my system, and the Ray Tracing option is now available on my RTX 3070, my 3060 you, as well as on my RTX 2060.
That’s all folks!
